Our VTCT (Ofqual-regulated) Level 4 Certificate in Laser & IPL Hair Removal and Skin Rejuvenation delivers the essential theoretical knowledge and clinically supervised practical competence required to safely and legally perform treatments in line with UK local authority licensing requirements.
The qualification is regulated by Ofqual, ensuring nationally recognised standards of education, assessment, and clinical practice. The programme covers core principles of laser and IPL technology, alongside safe and effective hair removal, and advanced light-based applications including pigmentation management and comprehensive skin rejuvenation protocols.
Training is delivered through a structured blended learning approach, combining in-depth online theory with an intensive, hands-on practical training day using live models.
All practical training is conducted on a 1:1 basis with an in-house Doctor at The Laser Station, ensuring exceptional clinical oversight, personalised instruction, and the confidence to deliver treatments safely and effectively in real-world practice.

Our VTCT Level 4 Laser & IPL Treatments qualification combines flexible online learning with expert, doctor-led practical training, providing the knowledge, confidence and clinical skills required to perform professional laser hair removal and IPL skin rejuvenation treatments.
20 Hours | Online Theory
Flexible, self-paced learning covering skin anatomy and physiology, laser and IPL technology, treatment parameters, laser safety, client consultations, contraindications, treatment planning and complication management.
Virtual Classroom | Doctor-Led Learning
One interactive virtual classroom session with an in-house Doctor, reinforcing theoretical knowledge, discussing clinical applications and preparing learners for practical training.
Practical Day 1 | Laser & IPL Fundamentals
1:1 practical training with an in-house Doctor, covering equipment setup, skin assessment, consultations, patch testing, treatment parameters and introductory laser hair removal and IPL treatments on live models.
Practical Day 2 | Clinical Competence & Assessment
Further supervised treatments on live models, developing confidence in laser hair removal and IPL skin rejuvenation across different skin types and treatment areas.
Learners demonstrate their practical competence through clinical observations, treatment assessments and completion of the required portfolio evidence.
Clinical Portfolio & Observations
Completion of all required assignments, practical observations, treatment records and clinical evidence, supported by our experienced teaching and assessment team.
Assessment is based on practical skills and portfolio completion, with internal assessment and quality assurance in accordance with VTCT requirements.
Certification
Upon successful completion of all required practical assessments and portfolio evidence, learners receive their nationally recognised, Ofqual-regulated VTCT Level 4 Laser & IPL qualification.
